Broward Hospidal: Health
Broward Health is an organization that has been in operation for 75 years. This system has been nationally recognized for its system of care in South Florida, and has won many awards and accreditations from a wide range of groups over the years. These awards went to the various hospitals included in the Broward Health system, and show that their standard of care is high, and they are concerned with the patient and care for their illness or injury.
The system has over 1500 beds, and saw more than 283,000 emergency room visits in 2013. In addition to that, almost 63,000 admissions were recorded throughout the Broward hospital locations in the Broward Health system.
There are 5 hospitals within the health system. These hospitals are located around county, and provide top-notch care for anyone who attends the ER as well as those who are admitted for longer term care.
Throughout these hospitals, and the other care centers in the system, there are a number of services that are provided to patients:
- The Neurological Institute is located at the Broward Health North location. This institute specializes in evaluation and treatment of neurological problems. Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, sleep disorders and strokes are all conditions that can be treated at the Neurological Institute. In addition, the institute includes rehabilitation programs for these issues.
- Cardiac Services are available at all hospital locations. Patients can receive diagnosis and treatment of various heart diseases, as well as taking part in prevention programs. The system's Heart Center of Excellence allows patients to be treated by top experts, using advanced technology to fight heart disease and complications arising from it.
- Emergency Services provide urgent care for those unfortunate accidents or sudden illnesses. Emergency rooms at hospital locations have highly qualified emergency doctors, as well as excellent support staff and nurses. Facilities for pediatric cases are available, as well as helipads at certain locations for air ambulance landings. A large number of rooms through the locations means that patients have less wait times to see a doctor in an emergency. The website, www.browardhealth.org also provides average wait times for emergency room visits to give you and your loved ones an idea of how long it will take to see a doctor.
- Pediatric Care is provided for the special needs of children who are ill or injured. Compassionate specialists and nurses can help you and your child through the difficulties of being in the hospital for various types of care. The NICU is also available to help babies through their difficult first days of life.
Hospital care is abundant, and can provide you and your family with all of the care that you may need, whether it's more minor injuries, or serious illness.
